2. What data we collect

We collect the following personal data:

  • Account information: Name, email address, and hashed password when you register.
  • Order information: Name, email, and shipping address when you place an order (processed via Stripe).
  • Device location: Latitude and longitude coordinates you set for your PlaneTicker device (to show nearby aircraft).
  • Device telemetry: Last-seen timestamps, firmware version, and hardware type for connected devices.
  • Newsletter: Email address if you subscribe to our newsletter.

3. How we use your data

  • Order fulfilment: To process and deliver your order.
  • Account management: To let you log in, manage devices, and access your dashboard.
  • Device operation: To fetch aircraft data for your configured location.
  • Communication: To send order confirmations, shipping updates, and (if subscribed) newsletter emails.
  • Product improvement: Aggregated, anonymised usage data to improve the service.

4. Third parties

  • Stripe: Processes payments securely. We never see or store your full card number. See Stripe's privacy policy.
  • ADS-B data providers: We use open community ADS-B networks to source aircraft data. No personal data is shared with these providers.

5. Data retention

  • Account data: Kept until you request deletion.
  • Device aircraft events: Kept for 90 days, then automatically purged.
  • Order records: Kept for 6 years for legal and accounting purposes.

6. Cookies

We use session cookies only to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics that track individual users.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: Ask us to delete your account and personal data.
  • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Object to processing of your data for certain purposes.
